Some of you have asked to see what the van looks like, so here are some pictures:

Still on the Nullarbor.........

A couple of photos of the Bunda cliffs (where Australia drops 80 metres straight down into the Great Australian Bight).......

A couple of signs that took my fancy.........

......and for the golfing enthusiast, the tee at Mundrabilla Roadhouse. Some people carry their golf clubs with them so that they can play 'the longest golf course in the world'. (I knew we should never have shut our lunatic asylums!!)

Sorry I haven't updated for a while........

Here are some shots of our drive across the Nullarbor. The road doubles as a landing strip for the flying doctor in several places.

We had 2 bush camps on the way - lovely campfires, stunning evenings and crisp mornings.

Ceduna

Ceduna may not be the most exciting of places, but it does have an excellent camping area - just at the back of the beach, with excellent facilities including a TV room, games room and the lovely camp kitchen, where we roasted legs of turkey (and enjoyed a bottle of red)........ We head across the Nullarbor tomorrow, so may not be able to update for a few days.

Plant Life

Instead of regaling you with yet more pictures of the coastline, I thought I might devote this 'post' to the plant life that manages to cling to life in the most unlikely environment. All photos were taken during our drives around the various coastal attractions near Streaky Bay - blowholes, whistling rocks and suchlike are difficult to capture on film.

Still on the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula

If you're sick of photos of the coast, you may prefer to skip this 'post' (and probably the next one). I think it's exceptional in its diversity and its pristine environment. I have found it much more appealing the the Great Ocean Road - with everything worth seeing relatively easily accessible. The weather has been stunning too, so I guess that helps!

Down the bottom there are 2 pristine beaches, a wealth of bird life, cliffs, caves........and even a storm at sea out over the Bight!
